A paper published in the medical journal The Lancet on May 2 stated that a study of eight years of research involving European multinationals tracked nearly 1,000 male sexual partners across Europe. The study found that in the case of HIV on one side of the partner and antiretroviral therapy (ART), there was no case of viral transmission between the partners. Combining the same results from early studies of heterosexual partners, the researchers believe that the actual rate of HIV infection can be reduced to 0 by ART.
